You can get certain handicapping products, including Past Performances, Insider Picks, and Power Plays, at no charge when you place at least $2 in settled wagers on the same track and race date. This article explains the requirement, which products are eligible, and how to find handicapping products.
What you need to know
The $2 Free-With-Bet requirement
To receive a Free-With-Bet product at no charge, your settled qualifying wagers must total at least $2 on the track and race date associated with the product. A settled wager is one that has been finalized after the race and was not refunded, cancelled, or voided.
You can combine smaller wagers to reach the $2 minimum. For example:
- One settled $2 wager qualifies.
- Two settled $1 wagers qualify.
- Four settled $0.50 wagers qualify.
- One settled $1 wager does not qualify.
If your settled qualifying wagers total less than $2, your wagering account will be charged the product’s regular price.
What counts as a qualifying wager
A qualifying wager must:
- Be placed through your wagering account.
- Be placed on the track associated with the product.
- Be placed for the race date associated with the product.
- Be settled and not refunded, cancelled, or voided.
The wager type and race number do not matter. You can wager on any race at that track on that race date. Wagers on another track or race date do not count.
Refunded, cancelled, or voided wagers do not count toward the $2 minimum. For example, if your horse is scratched (withdrawn from the race) and your wager is refunded, you need to place another qualifying wager to meet the minimum.

About handicapping products
Handicapping is the process of reviewing information about a race to help you make wagering decisions. Handicapping products are research tools and do not guarantee a winning wager.
Available products may include:
- Past Performances
- Speed, pace, and class ratings
- Race summaries and selection sheets
- Insider Picks and Power Plays
- Pedigree information
- Workout and clocker reports
- Handicapping software and data files
- Educational articles and racing analysis
Past Performances (PPs) show information about a horse’s previous races. Depending on the product, they may include previous race results, running positions, speed, pace, and class ratings, track and distance information, jockey and trainer statistics, pedigree information, race comments, and workout information. Different PP products offer different levels of detail.
Product availability varies by track, race date, and racing type.

Important details
When charges and refunds appear
Product charges are generally processed after wagering closes. Allow up to 24 hours for the transaction to appear in your account.
If you are asked to pay upfront
You may need to pay upfront for a Free-With-Bet product if the price of a previous Free-With-Bet product could not be collected from your wagering account. If you meet the $2 minimum for the new product’s track and race date, the upfront price is refunded after wagering closes. Allow up to 24 hours for the refund to appear. After the refund is processed, you can access eligible Free-With-Bet products without paying upfront again.
If the track cancels racing
- If the track completes three or fewer races, you will not be charged for the Free-With-Bet product, even if you did not meet the $2 minimum.
- If Race 4 or a later race is completed before the rest of the card is cancelled, you must meet the $2 minimum to receive the product for free.
Credit card purchases
Products purchased directly by credit card are final and cannot be refunded, including when a track cancels.
